Three questions before the brochure
A group does not pick a hotel from a photograph: it picks on whether it fits, whether everyone can eat together and whether there is somewhere to gather. That gets asked first.
How many you are
This rules hotels out before anything else. The three in the group run from a small house among palms to a resort on the south coast of Lanzarote: the same group fills one and vanishes into the other.
What happens in the mornings
A retreat needs somewhere to gather and a fixed hour; a group trip, hardly ever. Saying so in the first email saves an entire round of questions.
Whether you eat together
Every hotel has its own kitchen and its own menu — one of the six conditions of entry to the group. How a group's meals are handled is answered by that kitchen, not by a chain-wide menu list.
