Your own nest, up high

A bamboo-and-timber structure under a makuti roof, raised by hand on two levels. Below, the king bed dressed in white among African textiles and an arched window framing the jungle. Above, a rooftop terrace to lie back and count the stars.

Beneath the house itself, a lounge with a pool and a private garden for the hot hours. The bathroom is outdoors, among the greenery. There is nothing else like it in Zanzibar.
