You land at Da Nang (DAD), the airport for Hội An: twenty-five minutes and some twenty kilometres up the coast. Your flight number goes with the booking, whatever hour it lands, and the house's reception takes it from there.

The coast road

one road, flat all the way

It is a single road and it never climbs: it follows the coast from Da Nang down to Hội An, the same one half the town cycles along. Rice fields on one side; the sea, never far, on the other.
