STANDARD FAMILY ROOM · ROYAL MÓNICA · PLAYA BLANCA

One room, two spaces.

A separate bedroom with two single beds, plus a living area with sofa bed and a private balcony. For families who want to sleep close — without sleeping on top of one another.

The room that understands sleeping close is not the same as sharing a bed.

The Standard Family Room began with an observation. Families arriving at the Royal Mónica with children aged 8 to 14 would ask for two adjoining rooms — the children no longer wanted to share a bed with their parents, yet a separate corridor felt too far. The Royal Mónica answered differently: one room with two distinct zones — a separate bedroom with two single beds for the parents and a living area with a sofa bed for the children. No door between them, but distance nonetheless. The upper floors bring a breeze by night, and a furnished private balcony is where the family gathers for breakfast.

— WHAT IT LEAVES YOU

“The children settled into the living area with their books. We read in the bedroom. It was the first time in years we weren't on top of each other.”

Balcony detail

The balcony belongs to everyone.

The private balcony of the Standard Family Room comes with a table and four chairs — room enough for the family to breakfast together, with no need to spill out into the hotel corridor. A view over the tropical garden or the resort, depending on the aspect. A breeze assured by the height of the upper floors.

The Royal Mónica team leaves a chilled drinks pack in the minibar — orange juice, milk, water and two bottles of Dorada beer. It's replenished daily — but only if you ask for it at check-in. At no extra cost.

The living area transforms.

The sofa in the living area converts into a double bed. By day it serves as a reading room; by night, a bedroom for one or two children or teenagers. The transformation takes two minutes, and the hotel team can prepare it if you give two hours' notice.

The sofa-bed linens are Egyptian cotton — the very same as in the main bedroom, not the usual budget version. A small touch from the Royal Mónica that guests never expect, and always appreciate.
