The Double Sea View is the same as the Standard (ground floor, double bed, polished concrete, walk-in shower) — with one difference that earns its difference in price: the terrace doesn't look onto the garden, it looks onto the sea. Straight out to the Atlantic. Nothing built in between. When the trade wind shifts in the afternoon, the sound of the surf drifts in through the open window. The sun rises at 7:30 to the left and sets at 19:00 to the right. For many guests, those two moments of the day are the reason they come.

Playa Blanca faces south, near the very tip of Lanzarote. The sun sets precisely to the right of the terrace, over Fuerteventura, visible across the strait. In February and November the sunsets are red. In July and August, golden. In March they change minute by minute.
At 18:30 — before dusk — the Royal Mónica team lights two wrought-iron lanterns on every Sea View terrace. They stay lit until midnight. It's the detail most guests photograph.

The sea-facing rooms have an acoustic quality no brochure mentions: as the tide falls, the breaking waves draw back and the sound of the surf turns distant, almost a whisper. As it rises, the surf moves closer and the sound becomes a presence.
Guests arriving from European cities often remark that they sleep better with the sliding door ajar — the rhythm of the surf works as a natural white noise. The Royal Mónica team leaves a small card on the bedside table with the week's tide times.
